Tour de France Stage 4: Marcel Kittel duly takes 3rd stage win

As predicted this morning (not difficult!) Marcel Kittel won the sprint stage into a damp Lille this evening, although this was a tighter sprint than his two victories in England. Griepel featured for the first time, having found the wet conditions in London yesterday very difficult.

Vincenzo Nibali has held onto Yellow and there have been no major changes overall, although Chris Froome had a nasty fall early in today's stage. Andy Schleck (Tour winner in 2010 when Contador was disqualified for doping) is out of the race, having crashed yesterday and damaged his knee.

Tomorrow's cobbles are expected to shake up the overall classification as well as the riders. Could be very tricky as rain is forecast for Wednesday afternoon.

The list of all time stage winners has been updated with Marcel Kittel moving on to 7 stage wins. With a sprinters stage to come on Thursday he may well make that 8. Friday's stage has a couple of Category 4 climbs in the last 20 kilometres, so may deny Marcel five wins in the first week.
