Domaine FL move from Bordeaux to Burgundy appointing Kyriakos Kynigopoulos

Julien Fournier (i/c Domaine FL)@Millésime Bio January 2013

Domaine FL, based in Rochefort sur Loire, has just announced that it has changed its consultant: ceasing to work with Bordeaux based Stéphane Derencourt and instead will be working with Kyriakos Kynigopoulos of Burgundia Oenologie, which is based in Burgundy's Beaune. The estate will be starting its conversion to biodynamics next year.

I think it was you who introduced me to Domaine FL not that long ago, Jim. Now, the picture of their building looks very much like a Templars' "commanderie", of which there were'nt overmuch in the Loire region although Hugues de Payns, the first Master of the Order, already was granted land there. So, this "conversion" to steinerism is a surprise indeed. Not necessarily for the better if you ask me. But only Akasha will tell.

Luc. You do me too much credit I don't think I introduced you to FL unless it was at the time of the falling out with Jo Pithon.

Indeed, that was the occasion, Jim. If you ask me – and even if you don’t – jolly good Jo’s sideburns and your very own smashing moustache and whiskers form a perfect illustration of what virile pilosity ought to be ! Given that, if the yellow and green and dotted jersey were to give way to your distinguished colouful shirts, I might become a bloody TdF spectator myself.
